Supporting Independence through Teamwork

Providing Mobility Assistance Dogs & Medical Alert Dogs

A Service Dog can give independence and improved quality of life to those with medical conditions and limited mobility.

A Bond like no other...

A Bond like no other...

The bond between a service dog team can be an incredibly important element of a person's independence, well being, and even recovery.

Seizure Response Dogs

Seizure Response Dogs

Seizure response dogs can break a fall, go for help, and/or keep a person in a safe position, alert others to an ongoing seizure, and provide guardianship during/after a seizure. Seizure Response Dogs also give their partners the confidence to connect with their community, and move forward feeling empowered and safe.

Mobility Assistance Dogs

Mobility Assistance Dogs

Mobility Assistance Dogs assist their partners with daily tasks such as dressing, shopping, laundry, and bringing in groceries by retrieving and carrying items and navigating hard to reach objects. Mobility assistance dogs often are key in a client's safety and independence.

TBI/Neurological Service Dogs

TBI/Neurological Service Dogs

We have had success integrating service dogs into the lives and therapies of TBI patients. Our dogs can assist with balance, retrieving dropped items that can't be seen or physically grasped, and prevent injuries related to poor coordination/fluidity of movement or vision loss. In most of our clients with TBI, the dog is involved in rehabilitation therapies

Integrated into our community

Integrated into our community

Our local communities are vital to the training of our service dogs. Service dogs in training begin making outings with students, staff, and volunteers as young as 8 weeks of age as a part of a rigorous socialization program. During this phase in their training they are afforded the opportunity to see, smell, and hear all of the factors that will become a part of their daily lives as service dogs.

Therapy Dogs

Therapy Dogs

Our Canine Therapy Program gives those living in residential or attending therapeutic day programs a chance to visit with our service dogs in training and our therapy dogs. Therapy Dogs have been linked to decreased feelings of depression, isolation, and anger/frustration as well as increased confidence, cooperation, and even healing! Click on Community for more information about our Canine Therapy Program.

Community Outreach

Community Outreach

In addition to our Canine Therapy Program, we offer educational classes including presentations for school age children and universities on the benefits and uses of service dogs. We also offer several sessions of basic obedience and therapy dog training classes throughout the year. If your interested in our classes, check out the Community page for more information.
